acceptable rebellion
co-created by ryan leder, kitty benford and the company, Speak up - curve leicester & the National theatre (2025)
Speak Up was a secondary school programme that supported young people to work in collaboration with local artists and teachers to co-create artistic responses to issues that are most important to them.
Sir Jonathan North Girls College created ‘ACCEPTABLE REBELLION’, a feminist, anarchist musical, addressing the societal structures that put them on the back foot, and brought forward an argument to change the name of their school, to reflect the schools culture and empower the young people they prepare for adulthood.
